Dr. Froswa’ Booker-Drew’s commitment to helping others started when she was growing up in Shreveport, Louisiana. She watched her father feed people experiencing homelessness while treating them with dignity, an experience that stayed with her. After moving to Texas to attend the University of Texas at Arlington, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in history and English, she continued her education at Oklahoma City University and earned a master’s degree in humanities. She later received her Ph.D. in Leadership and Change from Antioch University. Booker-Drew is the founder of Power in Action-Dallas and co-founder of HERitage Giving Circle, which supports organizations led by Black women.
