Betty Guy is Louisiana’s finest! Born in Bayou Salle, she graduated from Southern University where she was named Miss Southern University and was initiated into Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. She received a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Texas Woman’s University. She founded the Women of Courage widow support group at Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship. A licensed counselor, Betty is a volunteer with the Greater Dallas Head Start Advisory Board for more than 15 years and she served on the Can Academy Board of Directors. She is a 2024 Joyce Jones Community Service Award, presented by the Psi Chapter of Iota Phi Lambda Sorority.
