Two HBCU football teams will take an exotic detour in the chase for the SIAC title.
Kentucky State and Morehouse have been announced as the participants in the YES Bahama Classic, as first reported by HBCU Legends’ Kyle T. Mosley.
The game is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 7, 2026 at 1 p.m.
“My goal was to get bigger-branded HBCUs. So, we reached out to Morehouse College and Kentucky State University to see if they wanted to play. And it worked out perfectly,” YES (Young Entrepreneurz Solutions) founder Ernest Ruffin told Mosley. “The Bahamas is great, offering a bigger and better football field for the teams with Thomas A. Robinson Stadium having 15,000 seating capacity.”
YES promoted and produced the HBCU Football Classic last year in St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands with Fort Lauderdale defeating Virginia University of Lynchburg 38-26.
Kentucky State will come into the 2026 season fresh off the school’s first NCAA Division II playoff win and the most wins overall in 90 years. Morehouse will be led by new head coach Brad Sherrod, who was hired to replace former Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Terance Mathis.
