Rickey Lynn Tenner was born on August 2, 1959, in Henderson, Texas, to the parents of James Hogan and Annie D. Tenner. He spent most of his childhood in Henderson before later relocating to Dallas. Rickey graduated from W. T. White High School in 1977.
He dedicated the last 16 years of his career to Sewell Lexus, where he worked as a detailer and porter until his retirement in February 2026. On March 10, 2026, Rickey completed his earthly assignment and was called home to be with the Lord.
Rickey found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved listening to his classic record collection, fishing, grilling, gardening, and spending time with his cats. On his days off, he enjoyed cooking and inviting family over to share a meal. Rickey had a caring and devoted heart—he especially cherished caring for his mother and his late wife, Donna. Above all, he enjoyed the comfort of being at home.
Rickey was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Donna Sherman; father, James Hogan; brothers, Calvin Adams, Willie E. Hogan, and Michael D. Moore; sister, Rachel A. Adams; aunt, Jennette Tenner; and grandson, Elijah Campbell.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his mother, Annie D. Tenner; his sons, Rickey D. Campbell of Dallas and Rickey G. Campbell (Ashley) of DeSoto; his brothers, James E. Tenner (Wanda) of Beaumont and Gerald E. Hogan (Monique) of Dallas; his sister, Annette Tenner Wesley of Lancaster; his grandchildren, Rickey Jr., Jeremiah, Jeremy, Joshua, Isaiah, Serenity, and Caiden; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
