OBIT: LESLIE EARL KNIGHT

Leslie Earl Knight, born on September 24, 1962, in Dallas, Texas, departed this world on August 5, 2025, in the very city that shaped his vibrant spirit. From the moment Leslie entered our lives, he exuded a warmth and charm that could light up a room, bringing with him a boisterous laughter and an infectious joy that lingered long after he left.

A true Dallas native, Leslie was not just a man; he was a mosaic of traits, a blend of humor, athleticism, and an ever-empathetic demeanor. Every encounter with him was a delightful experience, marked by his innate ability to connect with others. He had an extreme fondness for his nieces and nephews, often weaving tales filled with laughter and love, ensuring his legacy would be imprinted on their hearts. His caring nature and giving spirit knew no bounds, as he often found joy in doing for others. Whether it was through his infamous grilling or lending a helping hand in the neighborhood, Leslie was the quintessential embodiment of a great handyman, always ready to roll up his sleeves and dive into a project.

Leslie’s greatest pride was his son, Leslie Demond Nash, a testament to the nurturing and dedicated father he was. This bond, forged in love and shared experiences, stands as a celebration of his life and values—a legacy that will forever shine bright in the hearts of those who knew him.

His passing leaves a void that is immeasurable, felt deeply by his siblings, Jannie Jones, Larry Knight, Lawrence Knight, Jr., Mattie Branch, Kathy Knight, and Perry Knight. Together, they carry forward the light of his memory, a beacon of laughter and love that will guide them in the days to come.

As we gather to remember and honor Leslie’s life, we invite you to join us for a viewing at Golden Gate Funeral Home-Dallas on August 13, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM. The funeral service will follow on August 14, 2025, starting at 11:00 AM at the same location.

While the world feels a little dimmer without him, Leslie Earl Knight’s spirit will forever resonate in our stories and our hearts, a reminder of the joy we shared and the love we continue to hold.
