OBIT: ANTHONY WAYNE TRAYLOR

Anthony Wayne Traylor, affectionately known as “Tony” or “Cricket,” was born on November 16, 1959, in Dallas, Texas. He passed away peacefully on June 10, 2025, in his beloved hometown. A dedicated port worker in Houston, TX, Tony was widely recognized for his commitment to his job, but he was equally well-loved for his vibrant personality and ability to bring joy to those around him.

Tony’s education began at South Oak Cliff High School, where he laid the foundation for a life characterized by connection and camaraderie. He was known for his funny, jovial, and outgoing spirit, which made him a cherished friend and family member. His laughter and free-spiritedness will be remembered fondly by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

He is survived by his loving mother, Lucy Russell Traylor; his daughters, Marsha Douglas and Chimere Douglas, and his five grandchildren, who were the pride and joy of his life. He is also survived by his sister, Keisha Lankford, who will cherish the memories they created together.

Tony was predeceased by his father, Robert Traylor, who provided him with love and guidance throughout his life.

The memorial services honoring Tony’s life will take place at Golden Gate Funeral Home in Dallas. A Prayer Service will be held on June 29, 2025, starting at 5:30 PM and concluding at 6:30 PM. This will be followed by a Funeral Service on June 30, 2025, beginning at 1:00 PM. Finally, Tony will be laid to rest at Laurel Land Memorial Park on June 30, 2025.

Tony’s legacy of laughter and light will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of sharing in his life.
