WITHERITE LAW GROUP AND VEDA LOCA PARTNER TO HOST VEDA’S SMILING FACES, GIVING HOPE TO HOMELESS CHILDREN IN DALLAS-FORT WORTH

Personalized celebrations honor and uplift homeless youth in North Texas

Veda Loca

DALLAS, – With more than 3,700 homeless children in Dallas ISD and another 1,300 in Fort Worth ISD, youth homelessness is on the rise.  These children are more susceptible to increased levels of stress that can delay their social and emotional development and affect their performance at school.  Witherite Law Group and 1-800-TruckWreck are partnering with local radio host, Veda Loca, founder of Veda’s Smiling Faces, along with The Promise House, A Way Out Project, Citizens’ Committee to Save Our Children, Inc., Texas Achievement Center, Wellspring Mortgage, Jenny’s Beauty Supply, Southern Best Catering, and the help of other community support, to lessen the stress and positively impact the lives of homeless youth in North Texas.

With the help of Witherite Law Group and 1-800-TruckWreck, Veda Loca is creating personalized and memorable birthday experiences for homeless children in the community. These celebrations will take place once a month, with the April celebration happening on April 23, 2022, from noon until 2 p.m. at The Promise House, 221 W. Page Ave., Dallas, TX 75208. There will be four groups of 10 kids/teens ranging from ages of 8 up to 18 years of age including young adults and teen mothers. The parties will include various entertainment options, including a game truck, petting zoo, mobile manicure and pedicure van, a live DJ, face painting, store bought cupcakes and gifts.

“Quality education is the foundation of a child’s basic development, preparing him/her to be an asset to society,” said Amy Witherite, founder of Witherite Law Group. “The absence of a solid home base makes it difficult to succeed at just about anything. I hope that this partnership with Veda’s Smiling Faces serves as a beacon of hope, giving the children the emotional boost needed to perform well in school and life in general.”

Though homelessness among youth is trending up, more organizations are donating their time and means to give children opportunities and access to resources to help them overcome adversity and flourish.

“Children crave routine. It gives them a sense of security and normalcy, and there’s nothing more ‘normal’ to a child than a birthday party,” said Veda Loca. “These celebrations empower the children, their caregivers, and inspire moments of joy and happiness.”

Veda’s Smiling Faces is a non-profit organization dedicated to fellowship with families in need. “When they see Veda Loca I want them to see a woman here on a mission and with a purpose,” said Veda Loca. “I recognize the transformative power of birthday celebrations for homeless children, one that empowers their caregivers and inspires moments of joy and happiness in the lives of homeless children.”
