Saturday The city of Mesquite partnered with the Mesquite TX TRI East NAACP and hosted the  MLK Parade. There were 25 plus local businesses and crowds of Mesquite citizens who came out to enjoy the festivities of the parade.

There was more fun to be had and many attended as the celebration continued at the Mesquite Arts Center. There were performances from a Mesquite Church Community Choir , and a Praise Dancer from The  Word of Life Church. The Mesquite Mayor Dan Aleman, Jr. spoke to the community.
