
DALLAS—Dallas Mayor Eric L. Johnson recently announced his appointees to represent the City’s interests at the Regional Transportation Council (RTC), the Dallas Regional Mobility Coalition (DRMC), and Visit Dallas.
Mayor Johnson appointed the following members to the RTC:
- Mayor Pro Tem Jesse Moreno
- Councilmember Paul Ridley
- Councilmember Lorie Blair
- Councilmember Cara Mendelsohn
- Councilmember Kathy Stewart
- William Tsao
Councilmember Ridley chairs the Dallas City Council Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, on which councilmembers Blair and Mendelsohn serve. The mayor also appointed alternate RTC representatives Councilmember Bill Roth, vice chair of the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, Highland Park Councilmember Marc Myers, and Dan Micciche. Myers and Micciche were previously appointed to their positions.
To the DRMC, Mayor Johnson made the following appointments:
- Councilmember Paul Ridley
- Councilmember Lorie Blair
- Councilmember Cara Mendelsohn
Additionally, Mayor Johnson appointed Mayor Pro Tem Jesse Moreno to the Visit Dallas Board of Directors.
“As the anchor of North Texas, Dallas must have a strong voice in these organizations to advance our city’s priorities in transportation, tourism, and economic growth,” said Mayor Johnson. “I expect all my appointees to represent Dallas with excellence and deliver great results for our city, and have every confidence that they will do so.”
The RTC is an independent transportation policymaking body within the North Texas Council of Governments consisting primarily of local elected officials and regional transportation providers. The DRMC is a coalition of cities, counties, and transportation agencies across North Texas that advocates with state and federal officials and regional transportation agencies to advance major mobility projects.
Visit Dallas is an independent, not-for-profit sales and marketing organization that promotes Dallas as a premier destination for business and leisure travel. Contracted by the City of Dallas, Visit Dallas helps generate economic growth, jobs, and tax revenues which benefit the city and improve the quality of life for all who live, work and visit here.
All of these positions are determined at the mayor’s sole discretion and do not require City Council approval. The appointments are effective immediately.
