ELLIS COUNTY – U.S. Congress Texas District 6 candidate James Buford has a plan for lobbyists when elected in November.
“Right now, Washington works great – if you’re a lobbyist,”Buford says.
Big corporations and special interests pour millions into Congress and win big. Somehow, they always get what they want: tax loopholes, no-bid contracts, sweetheart regulations.
Buford believes that needs to change so Americans can win again.
“Working families in Texas’ 6th District are left with higher prices, worse healthcare, and a government that doesn’t listen,” Buford is running for U.S. Congress Texas District 6 to change that.
“I am not backed by corporate PACs. I am not taking orders from lobbyists. I am running to give this government back to the people who actually live and work here,” he says.
And for Buford that means banning members of Congress from becoming lobbyists too. It means full transparency on who is buying influence. And it means writing laws in public — not in back rooms with corporate lawyers.
