DALLAS, TX — The Chris Howell Foundation brought together job seekers and employers ready to hire at the Financial Forward: Work and Wealth Expo, held Friday, April 10 at The Shops at RedBird in Southern Dallas. The free, public event drew community members from across the Dallas-Fort Worth area, connecting them with participating employers including DART (Dallas Area Rapid Transit), Walmart Fulfillment Center, and Chick-Fil-A — and giving them direct access to financial education resources.
Designed as an integrated experience, Financial Forward combined employment access with practical financial education addressing two interconnected barriers to long-term stability. Hiring teams were available on-site, with some attendees receiving same-day employment opportunities.
In recognition of April as Financial Education Month, banking partners Comerica Bank and Frost Bank provided attendees with real, practical guidance on budgeting, saving, credit management, and building a stronger financial future.
“Too often, people gain access to one without the other,” said Dominique Bryant-Howell, Executive Director of the Chris Howell Foundation. “You can find a job, but without the financial tools to manage that income, stability becomes harder to maintain. Financial Forward is about closing that gap and equipping individuals with both opportunity and knowledge in the same space.”
This is what it looks like when opportunity and education meet in the same room. Together, this is how we move our community forward.
The expo, hosted at The Shops at RedBird, served residents across Southern Dallas and surrounding communities. The Chris Howell Foundation plans to build on the success of this event as part of its ongoing commitment to economic empowerment across Dallas and Tarrant Counties.
