WASHINGTON D.C. – The Epstein files; these files keep coming up and will not be brushed under the rug even after former Attorney General Pam Bondi did all she could do and was still terminated.

Even after some say Pres. Donald Trump has done all he can do as well to get the files off the minds of Americans from both sides of the aisle.

And now Trump’s wife Melania Trump.

She took to the media machine last week to offer her own thoughts on the matter.

Her words had many scratching their heads because while she denied having an association with Jeffrey Epstein and his sidekick Ghislaine Maxwell, there are photos, but dates and circumstances are all speculative.

The first lady who was expected to be speaking on a different topic about AI this past Thursday during her unexpected statements voiced that the “lies” about her connection with Epstein “need to end today.”

She said those lying were “devoid of ethical standards, humility and respect” and added “I do not object to their ignorance, but rather I reject their mean-spirited attempts to defame my reputation.”

There have also been rumors now debunked that Trump met his wife through Epstein.

The First Lady said Thursday legal action has been taken to counter claims that were untrue.

“My attorneys and I have fought these unfounded and baseless lies with success,” she said.

According to Trump, she met Epstein in 2000 with her husband. She said she did not know of his “criminal undertakings” and that she was not involved in any investigations regarding Epstein.

In her press conference she also encouraged Congress to hold public hearings with the survivors of Epstein’s crimes, allowing them to testify before lawmakers and have their stories entered into the congressional record.

“Each and every woman should have her day to tell her story in public if she wishes,” Trump said. “Then, and only then, we will have the truth.”

South Carolina Republican Nancy Mace who has been a strong voice in Congress regarding the Epstein files lauded the first lady for speaking out and calling for Congress to take some action with congressional inquiry.

“Thank you to our First Lady for being a voice for victims across the country,” Mace posted on social media. “From her work on the Take It Down Act to publicly standing for the survivors of Jeffrey Epstein and calling for action and the truth. The truth will prevail. America is strong when strong women stand up for what is right.”

If you are following this curve ball, one thing is clear Trump’s statements brought the Epstein discussion back to the forefront since Washington has made sure it was behind the scenes with all the other “world” news.

And in the end, the topic on Epstein and those who took part in these vile acts against victims who still have not had their stories respected or had their day in court should not be forgotten.

So, if it takes a first lady whose husband half the country hates to remind Americans that sexual assault, and murder by actors, politicians and even royalty is not okay, then Americans had better listen and turn up the volume.

This is one topic that should not be forgetten.
