Boys & Girls Clubs of Collin County, Comerica Bank to Host Prom Dress Shopping Event

In February, North Texans donated 380 dresses to the Comerica Bank Prom Dress Drive, benefitting the Boys & Girls Clubs of Collin County, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas and Dallas CASA.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Collin County in partnership with Comerica Bank will host a prom dress shopping event from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday, March 23 at the Boys & Girls Clubs’ Plano branch (1111 H Avenue; Plano, Texas 75074). All Collin County area teens, who need assistance attending prom, are welcome.

Six Dallas-area Comerica banking centers collected 380 new or gently used, formal dresses as well as accessories from fellow colleagues, customers and the community last month, benefiting new partner the Boys & Girls Club of Collin County, Dallas CASA and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas.  Overall, Comerica has donated 6,590 dresses to these organizations and other community partners in the last nine years.

This year’s prom dress drive season will conclude with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Collin County’s prom shopping event.  Members of Comerica’s North Texas Women’s Forum will assist with the event, helping club members and other Collin County area teens make their prom dreams come true.

In honor of Comerica’s 175th anniversary, the bank has partnered with Project Beauty to provide one teen from each benefitting nonprofit with a complimentary makeover (full hair and makeup), a $175 value/per teen, on the night of their respective proms.  Project Beauty also donated 60 dresses to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Collin County from its annual prom dress drive in partners Legacy West.

In addition, Project Beauty also is providing Thrive Causemetics swag bags to teens at next Saturday’s event.  Project Beauty’s mission is to spread empowerment through the universal language of beauty by helping women build confidence, hope and provide support and encouragement for each other.
