DESOTO – DeSoto Police are looking for three suspects who were part of an aggravated robbery of a Brinks armored vehicle last Thursday.

The robbery took place at PNC Bank on North Hampton Road at around 11:30 a.m.

A media release stated “During the incident, an armored truck guard was approached by two suspects and was pepper-sprayed while attempting to service the ATM. The suspects stole an unknown amount of cash and fled the scene northbound in a white sedan. Both suspects, along with a third suspect identified as the getaway driver, remain at large.”

The suspects were wearing masks.

The amount of cash stolen according to a source was $100,000.

The Brinks driver was working alone and gunfire did ensue.

No one was injured during the shooting.

DeSoto police detectives and the FBI are currently processing the scene and collecting evidence.

There were no cameras on the armored vehicle to further identification of the suspects, however, the DeSoto police do have a healthy number of surveillance cameras around the city.

A source said, “We will use those tracking cameras as part of this investigation.” No further details are being released at this time. If you have any information regarding this incident, contact the DeSoto Police Department at 469-658-3050.
