It’s the interview we’ve all been waiting for. Whether you’re a fan or critic of the once-MAGA Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, her growing dissent from President Donald Trump and shocking resignation from Congress last month continues to raise more questions than answers about her future and that out the Republican party.

Conversation continues to swirl around the representative, so Greene sat down for a highly anticipated interview with “60 Minutes” and CBS anchor Lesley Stahl to speak on her criticisms of the president while giving some insight into the growing tear within her party. Here’s three major highlights that’ll leave your jaw on the floor.

Republicans Secretly Talk Bad About Trump

It’s no secret that once you’re on the president’s bad side, you’ll likely stay there forever. Greene learned the hard way after repeatedly criticizing him on affordability and the Epstein files, we previously told you. The Georgian, however, said she’s not the only one with issues with Trump’s policies. but because of the president’s power, no one dares to defy him.

“I think they’re terrified to step out of line and get a nasty Truth Social post on them, yes,” Greene said of her Republican colleagues. Still, that doesn’t mean they’re not talking bad about Trump behind his back… according to Greene that is.

“I watched many of my colleagues go from making fun of him, making fun of how he talks, making fun of me constantly for supporting him,” Greene added. “When he won the primary in 2024, they all started — excuse my language, Lesley — kissing his a** and decided to put on a MAGA hat for the first time,” she said.

The Difference Between ‘America First’ and ‘MAGA’

Since the rise of Trump’s MAGA movement, Greene has always been an avid supporter of the GOP sub-party. During her interview with 60 minutes, however, she drew a bold line between her politics and the president’s.

“Are you MAGA?” interviewer Stahl asked Greene.

“I’m America First,” she responded.

Stahl followed up asking, “That’s not the same as MAGA?”

That’s when Greene clarified: “MAGA is President Trump’s phrase. That’s his, his political policies,” she said, “I call myself America First.” The congresswoman also said her time as MAGA has officially come to an end.

The phrase “America First” has also been used by the Trump administration to describe high tariff policies and mass deportation. According to Greene, and other critics of the president, Trump’s version of America first is not the real thing.

No Plans For a 2028 Presidential Run

After Greene announced she’ll be stepping down in January, many folks began fueling rumors that she may run for president in 2028. Trump is term limited– although he’s flirted with the idea of a third, unconstitutional term– which means Republicans are at a cross roads. Who will succeed the MAGA leader? Now, Greene said voters shouldn’t count on her to fill his spot.

“I have zero plans, zero desire to run for president. I would hate the Senate. I’m not running for governor,” Greene replied. Seemingly confirming she has no long term plan in American politics, the congresswoman acknowledged that folks are probably confused by her sudden moves.

“It doesn’t matter how many times I say it. I’ll have face-to-face conversations with people, and I’ll flat out tell them to their face, and they won’t believe me. And they’re like, ‘Oh yeah, sure.’ They’ll wink at me, and I’m like, ‘OK,’” Greene continued. “It’s like, I don’t know how to make it more clear.”
