Broadnax, in a memo to the city attorney, says council members began suggesting he resign a week before it was announced.
According to a post on an Austin city message board, a subcommittee has recommended the city hire T.C. Broadnax as Austin’s next city manager.
Broadnax confirmed his resignation, effective June 3, and said he is proud of what the city has accomplished under his leadership.
The mayor and his wife contested their home’s $1.6 million appraised value and could still pursue arbitration or a lawsuit.
