Taraji P. Henson – Born in Southeast D.C., Taraji P. Henson chased her dreams all the way to Howard University, where she earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1995. Her breakout role in John Singleton’s Baby Boy showed the world her power as an actress, paving the way for hits like Hidden Figures and Empire. But Taraji is more than her filmography. In 2018, she launched the Boris Lawrence Henson Foundation to address mental health in the Black community, speaking openly about struggles many keep silent. In May 2025, Spelman College honored her with an honorary degree, recognizing not just her artistry but her advocacy. What makes Taraji a Superb Woman is her ability to use her platform to inspire others — proving that strength and vulnerability can shine side by side.
