Anthony Harris, Sr.

Anthony “Big Anthony” Michael Harris, Sr. was a doting father, Chow Chow owner, husband, brother, and uncle. He was a God fearing, entrepreneur and family man who valued hard work, good food, and living life to the fullest. 

He was called home after a valiant fight due to  medical issues on May 26, 2023.

Anthony Michael Harris, Sr. was the son of Maezonia and R.E. Harris. He was born on June 29, 1958 in Minden, Louisiana. As a young boy in Minden, he accepted Christ at St. Rest Baptist Church.

With a deep sense of bravery and patriotism, he entered the military while a teenager, and served as a Marine. “Oorah!”. He was also enlisted into the United States Navy.

Anthony was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Billy Joe Harris, Orealius “OT” Harris, Eddie Joe Harris, Bobby “Stone” Harris, and sister: Mary Helen Harris.

Anthony’s memory will be continuously cherished by his devoted wife, Vera Harris, his children: Denetria Pegram (Joseph), Destiny Pegram, and Anthony Michael Harris, Jr. and his siblings: WC Charles, A.C. “Bill” Harris, and Mary Harris (Mollet), David Holliday (Sonia), and Patricia A. Musgrove.  Additionally, he leaves behind a host of special nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
