Sorority hosts informational event bridging gaps in community awareness

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® Omega Alpha Omega Chapter held its Public Policy Forum on Oct. 29, 2025 at the Torii & Katrina Hunter Event Center in Frisco, Texas. Two separate panel discussions, one on healthcare and the other on elected, public service, featured area leaders. Both sessions enlightened attendees on topics ranging from healthcare access and equity to running for public office, legislation and advocacy. Featured panelists were:

Dr. Tracey Banks
Dr. Geré Feltus
Priya Gathings
Moderator: Alana Miller

Dynette Davis
Sheryl English
Angelia Pelham
Moderator: Sheila Taylor Clark

Both sessions provided data and statistics, emphasizing the importance of voting.

This Greater Frisco chapter of the sorority promoted the goal for the event was to “amplify the voices and experiences of women while addressing the critical issues that shape our communities.”
