Meet McKenna McShann, a graduating senior from the School for the Talented and Gifted at Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Magnet Center in Dallas, Texas who has lifetime perfect attendance. She was raised in the Highland Hills neighborhood in southern Dallas.
McKenna began her education at Rosie M. Collins Sorrells Education and Social Sciences at Townview Magnet Center in 2011 at the age of three. McKenna and her twin sister Madeline were accepted to Dallas ISD’s George Bannerman Dealey Montessori School at the age of 4 and remained at Dealey for 10 years, with perfect attendance.
McKenna has been blessed with great health and was able to attend school each and every day through her four years in high school. She has a 4.3 weighted grade point average and a 3.8 grade point average at the number 1 public school in the State of Texas.
The treasurer for the Student Council, she is a member of the National Honor Society, and Assistant Treasurer for the Dallas NAACP Youth Council. Appointed to the Congressional Youth Council by Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett, McKenna is also an Education is Freedom Scholar, AP scholar, Member of the Executive Board at Townview, Gold Award Girl Scout and Silver UIL 3A champion at District in girls tennis doubles; to name a few.
She will attend Howard University in the Fall and major in psychology on a premed track with a goal of becoming a physician with a focus in psychiatry
