Ayo Edebiri, born in Boston to Nigerian and Barbadian parents, graduated from NYU Tisch School of the Arts. She got her start in comedy writing (Big Mouth) before landing her breakout acting role as Sydney in The Bear in 2022, which earned her an Emmy, Golden Globe, and Critics’ Choice Award. She’s since appeared in Bottoms, Abbott Elementary, and voiced April O’Neil in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Edebiri brings humor, timing, and depth to everything she touches. Whether she’s writing, acting, or voicing a character, she’s changing what representation in entertainment can and should look like.
